My Jardini is about 14-15" now and has began showing signs of aggression,he leaves my cats alone(i think because they are the same size or bigger than him.He chases a large Bala shark(8-9" and a smaller Oscar 5")I'm just hoping he continues to leave my cats alone.

LOL if you dont wont them dieing move them to another tank or sell them lol

Yeah, I had to get rid of my oscar because my jardini had him pinned to the bottom. If the oscar came out of hiding the jardini would hit him and send him back into hiding. At feeding time the oscar would lie against the surface like a leaf and wait for food to float by. It was sad to watch. I hope he got a better home.

Probably just because hes hungry. He seems to be calmed down a bit now

I would say that's the sign of predation. I noticed with my 18" jar tried to eat my 10" bala shark. I notice bala sharks that are 10" or smaller get attacked by predatory fish even the same size. Something about the bala shark's movement and the scent maybe that triggers the predatory fish to attack. Even my 10" senegalus bichir would try to bite my balas, but would leave the 8" tin foil barbs alone.

I know this sounds crazy but i believe that fish somehow can tell wich other fish are weaker and pose no danger, then they attack and harass the weaker fish to eliminate any compitition for food and what not.
