About a month ago I bought a breeder pair of Angels and put them in my 20 gallon. The female has made about four batches of eggs so far, so that's about once per week. The problem is that so far the male has only fertilized a majority of the eggs in one batch, and that one got eaten. Any time that anyone passes by the tank when they're breeding, he begs for food instead of fertilizing eggs. I swear the fish has A.D.D., because he can't seem to focus on those eggs.

I just took the blanket off to check on the eggs since it's been about 5 hours. I think they should be fertilized because the male wasn't distracted and I saw him fertilizing them.

Anyone want to guess the first thing the male did after I took the blanket off?

A musical number? :P

I've noticed my angels are fairly spastic as well. The pair has had about 10 spawns, of which I only have about 20 viable fry that are near dime size now. The majority of the eggs never get fertilized. Their last spawn became free swimming about 4 days ago, and I think I'll end up with close to 80 fry this time. I think it just takes them a long time to figure it out, or the male isn't entirely mature yet.

The male is my biggest Angel.
