THE BAD THINGS I SEE AT WORK

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
My LFS had 5 rtcs...I asked how they are going to keep them if non selled. The owner replied with " 2000 gallon tank" I smiled.

You know, I love fish so much, that I hate them! I hate people getting fish that they have no idea about. It's not totally the buyer's fault, it's mostly the person selling them. They should be told that ONE rtc is going to need a tank the size of their bed, let alone 4. :irked: Some people are just looking for the sale, or are selling fish they just have no clue about.

I had a one today. Bloke came in wanting 2 of our largest tinfoils. So I asked what he already had, he replied with one oscar. I asked what size tank does he have and he said 2 foot. His O is already 15cm, based on his finger spacing. I asked him has he got a bigger tank planned and he said no, it'll be fine for life in there because it has stopped growing. I then informed him of all the oscar care aspects. To put icing on the cake, he then told me that he did have 2 oscars but he flushed the other one because they were fighting! What an absolute A**hole! Needless to say he left me in a bad mood and with NO tinfoils!

My lfs just got a 19" rtc in. They have a very knowledgable staff that only sell to responsible owners, I know because I asked if they did and watched them turn someone down from a bala shark. I guess their one of the few responsible lfs out there.

i've gotten a lot of "fish will grow to the size of their tank" excuses from buyers, i've overheard one associate telling a lady that goldfish need 9sq inches of space each(or per inch, i didn't hear, either way pathetic and sick) and yesterday another associate sold a guy a 6" koi who then walked up to the register with a 10 GALLON TANK AND EQUIPMENT!!! :WHOA:ahhhh, is it too much to ask for my fellow deathco employees to pull their heads out of their asses, do some actually research and screen people before they buy fish :swear::wall:
