I was on another aquatic site and found a thread saying that it is very likely that Peru and Columbia will ban the catching of their freshwater stingrays in the future. Could this be true?

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

i hope not some one plese say this is worng

that is such a shame why r they so picky about our loved fish

I do think that it is a shame, but at the same time they are helping the fish populations. Think about the thousands of stingrays that were imported over the years, now were are all of them? Most of them are dead because alot of people didnt have the space, time and money for these amazing creatures. Look at the black rays from Brazil, their number that are left have gone down drastickly sense we started importing them and now they are starting to slowly rise up again, sense they've been banned. So I do think that this is a bad thing for the common aquariust (sry about my spelling lol) but in the long run it is better for the rays. And I think the serious ray keepers will be able to get their hand on ray, the matter is at whats cost.

yes i do agree with you but do u no how much even just a common motoro would be

this is why more captive breeding is needed.... but I don't see it happening any time soon....

yes lets all pray that it doesnt happen soon, except i live in canada so i dont think it would effect me too much if the us banned them, but ya the prices would still skyrocket
