To me it looks like a shovelnose cat with that rounded front.
 
Nice,keep us posted on its behavior.I've read that they become aggressive at such sizes.
 
I highly doubt it's the largest in North America, but very nice, nonetheless. There's one at the Shedd Aquarium that I would guesstimate is around 20".

Flagtails are kind of hard to mistake, with their enormous broad heads and wide, flat mouths. My guy is around 14" now; I got him at 8 or 9".

Hm. I've never heard this before. I've seen some massive specimens on youtube in communities with fish a fraction of their size without any apparent aggression...
 
The only thing I've heard is they start attacking tankmates for the slime
