I want to hear people's opinions on algae eaters. This both to hear what people come up with and because my oto cats are not doing their job! My supposed algae eating machines do a OK job on my tank but have ignored the worst spots. So lets hear it people, what are the best freshwater janitors out there?

Based on my personal experience only, Chinese Algae Eater does wonders also bn pleco. I do a combo because the CAE gets all the muck and snot like stuff off the air stone lines...etc. The BN PLeco gets rid of all the bigger hairy muck like stuff....hahaha.
It depends on the type of algae. My plecos do not care for the green algae. Now the brown they go crazy for. But I would go with the common pleco for the brown algae.
I don't know if anyone agrees, but no fish really cleans the tank that well. Yes many fish eat algae, but if you have an algae problem, other than needing to clean the glass periodically, you should look elsewhere to solve the problem.
Having said that I think plecos of all kinds are cool. I have a rainbow shark and I think he does a pretty good job of keeping algae under control on the rocks and plants.
