The best Fluval FX5 filter media ?

I am going to be setting up my FX5's in a couple days but I can't decide
what media to use , I want to usee some kind of Prefilter in the first chamber, Bio matrix or ceramic rings in the middle and then a polishing pad on the bottom tray .

so I need to know what should I use as prefilter and bio matrix or ceramic rings.

Or if you would use some totally different .

All bio-max is all I ran in all 6 of my FX-5's. Polishing pads just clog, so I wouldn't waste time with those. You can use the blue filter floss on the top of the first tray on top of the media. With regular water changes and regular filter maintenance, your water will be crystal clear.

Perfect! Tyvm!, I am going to head out now and buy some , but I haven't been able to find any filterfloss anywhere local so I will have to find a place online that sells it , can you recomend any sites ?

I use aquaclear sponges in the middle and bottom parts of my fx5s. On the top I use ceramic rings and PolyBio pads for polishing. Sometimes I put in carbon for the AC70.

Want some good filter media,take a look at Poret foam. Comes in all different densities 30 ppi is good for pre filter stage in cans.
