Life before our generator: When the power went out, I would add more water to the main tank so that the bioballs in the wet/dry filter were submerged. If the power was out for more than 8 hours, my husband would go to town and pick up one of his large generators and bring it back home, and we had extension cords running through the house and garage.
What would happen if there was a power outage when we are out of town?
With our current system, the generator kicks on within a few seconds after the power goes out. It does not matter if we are gone for a week or more or if the power is out for days.....for the fish tank, it's business as usual.
