The best Mechanical filter

IMO-
The best mechanical filter is a homemade sump setup made to polish water....Canister wise I am very fond of the Magnum 350's but they require a smaller tank-water flow isn't that great...but they do an excellent job.....Pretty useless for bio filter though.

Extremely fine filter media gets clogged extremely quickly.

The best at catching small to fine particles. Sorry about that.

Then that would be a Diatom filter. Nothing polishes up a tank better or clogs up quicker.
