I have a HUGE sump. its no where near full but with what it has in it now it runs really well... my water params stay top notch. never any ammonium, never any nitrite and a maximum of 12 ppm nitrates after 3-4 days of no water change. But its not good enough for me, the reason being because it still doesnt get rid of that yellowish water color u get from organic material in the water. I know a carbon filter will clear this color right up. but i figured while Im at it why not get a filtration that will filter the the colors and smells out of the water but also absorb alot of nitrates... who uses what?
