heres a video on my favorite substrate. more of a DIY look into substrate vs the horrendous prices lfs charge for gravel and is by far the most natural looking sand mix i have yet to find. thanks

That's an awesome vid. Only question I have is, is it hard to clean compared to play or pool filter sand?

Its dirtier than pfs but play sand doesnt even compare to this stuff. Took total of 4 washes in by the video and about 2 mins to rinse. Looks more natural imo than pfs or play sand.

Oh lol. Vacs easily and same as most sand where you just keep the siphon an inch above and sucks up the poop very well.

Great video. I've seen this sand in home depot. Here in Hawaii home depot, we also have volcanic cinder available in the same area as the sand. Have you seen this before? I opened another thread about using volcanic cinder as bio media. What do think about that? I think it'll work great, but not positive.
