I am in the planning stage of my 12'x'6x4' plywood glass tank and wanted ideas on the best way to filter such a tank.

I plan to stock the tank with my current fish and would like to add a few more, all of which will be tank busters.
I want a filter with a small foot print, able to handle a big bioload and is low cost to run.

I am looking at buying a Nexus Eazy 200/300 with a sequence 10,000 pump and an airtech 130 air pump. Both these two pumps use 88w which is pretty good before heating costs are added.

What other types of filtration could I run on a 2000g tank?
Any DIY suggestions?

maybe u could use pressure chambered 4" dia airlifts, with airtech 70 can pump 5-6000 uk gallons for 35 watts .looks like u would need something like 2 of these.they could pump into a 1000liter plastic tote which can be bought very cheaply.part of this could be a chamber for mechanical filtration then running through scrubbies or fluidised k1 or both, which i have been using with great results so far.airlifts and pipe can be made from ordinary sewer piping , tank connectors from pond supplies using 4" rubber boots for connecting pipes-easy disconnection.
