the biggest pacu i've ever seen

went to the pitsburgh zoo and ppg aquarium LOOK AT THESE PACU there was like 20 of them there were 2 20inch+ p-bass in with them but my dang camera batterys went dead any way the sigh said the pacu was over 30inches they were hugh the photo doesnt do them justice

Wish your batteries hadnt gone dead. Would have loved to have seen the pbass.
 
Looks like there's a redtail cat in there too.

Cool to see, but too bad many of them were probably brought there by people that didn't realize how big the fish get. Most zoos and aquariums won't even accept pacu and large catfish anymore because so many people are trying to get rid of them.

I'd like to have some pacu and irridescent sharks but I don't think I'll ever build a tank big enough.

my dad has a video from last week when he was in georgia, his clients took him to the monday night football game nyg against the falcons nad he went to the georgia aquarium a video of a pacu tank on his phone they looked like they were 40 inches ill try and see if i can upload a video

I think it is great that public aquariums have these things on display. It lets people know what they are getting themselvs into. A lot of people know how big a fish can get, but can't visualize it without seeing it in person. Also, they need to be full size because anything less only supports the idea that "they don't get that big". I think that every public aquarium should have a grown RTC, pacu, silver aro, shovelnose, and irridescent cat. Education is the best prevention.
 
as much as i love the aqurium i was kinda dissapointed as to haw many ick fish there were there i seen a bluegill with a ( ball of white stuff ) on its head it looked like it was dieing but i seen a fish that had popeye really bad its eye was sticking out atleast one inch and there striped bass i dont even wanna go there my stripers are 500% better shape theres are in
