Very sad news.

I've lost the largest hrp ever, Brutus. He died some time this afternoon. This was not from fighting or illness, he just expired. Not a mark on him and his fins are good. He was fine this morning.

Those of you who have followed my hrps know that I've had some ridiculously huge ones, in the 6-7 inch range and thick. Brutus was bigger than the GIANTS. He was the ultimate outlier, like a frankenstein.

His genetics did him in I believe. He may have been too big for his heart. I will post a final picture with his measurements.

Very sad news indeed. Sorry to hear.

Does Brutus have any progeny? At least he would live on through them, and one day you might get another monster of a HRP with his genes.

He has two daughters, Sharky and Tigger. Tigger especially shows the 'giant' gene. Tigger has ~70 babies, Sharky 35.

There are two remaining brothers of Brutus who have babies. Blackbeard and Neet. So many losses I'm just kinda numb to it now.

Brutus had a total of about 50-70 babies in 2 broods.

Here is Brutus. Truly a giant of his species...in comparison my other monster males (such as Hulk and Tank) clocked out at 6 inches with huge nuchal humps.

I found him within the hour, so as you can see he's still 'fresh'. No marks or swellings, fins are normal.

BRUTUS (just the facts)
Age 2
Out of Slade and Speck
Grandson of Pip and Mongo
Outlier in size honduran redpoint. ~4"H x 1 3/4" W x ~8"L
No nuchal hump. Head 1/3 the size of his body.
Not an alpha male. Became sub dominant after the demise of his father and brothers.
Mostly a 'gentle giant.'
The only huge male that was fertile (approx 70). Has 2 dominant daughters with 120 fry between them.

I challenge anyone to find a honduran redpoint of this size anywhere!
