name your first watery companions and if possible how long they lived.

Goldy: 2 weeks
Fairy: 1 week, 6 days
Tiger: 3 weeks
Finny: 10 months (jumped out, he was actually a cool fish, survived for 6 hours, got him in water, died 2 days later)
Finny 2: 2 days
Finny 3: 4 months
Finny 4: 4 months

You´re lucky still being able to remember your childhood that clearly ;)

I guess the first I had at the age of 5 did not have a long live, I can still remember some found dried next to the tank....

...I guess at young age we all made the same mistakes causing early death of our fishes...

Mine were a mix of anything from the LFS...

:(

I had a goldfish my dad bought for me when I was about 10. I didnt know anything about fish i filled up the bowl half way poured the fish in from the bag and it died. I didnt use any water treatment or age the water. It came straight from the tap.

I had a goldfish Live in a bowl that was 5x5x5 for 3 years. I always thought he was fat because he didnt have much excersize, now I know he was stunted.

My first fish was a rtc, which I happily fed many many, way too many goldfish to. I had a goldfish that survived a year and was about 9" long, then my catfish decided to eat him finally. Strange but oh well. That's why they cost 10 cents. I never use them anymore. I use white suckers as feeders, but they are quarantined for a few weeks first, and they are an ocassional treat.

oh the goldfish that lasted a year was named tuna.

the only goldfish i ever remember having was one from a local carnival when i was 5, it was a feeder and lived for 3 days

i had a 4 fancy goldfish in a 1gallon tank no filter in my bedroom when i was 9 and they all lived over a year ...woohoo go me
