Sooo....I figured I can't be the only one searching for things for the loved ones for Christmas already. So I figured I'd make a thread so we can all offer each other opinions on the various things we are looking for. Where the best deals are, the best brands, etc...

So, post the things you're looking for here and we'll see if we can't help each other out.

I'm looking for a wok for the ol BF. He has told me several times in the past week that he wants a wok. lol. Hint, hint? But I know nothing of the wok market. So if anyone has one and either likes it or dislikes it, please let me know! Thanks!

Me and my wife don't really buy each other anything. We mainly just do the tree and gifts for the kids

I figure I'm going to spend the money anyway, might as well spend it on something someone will use instead of adding to my "In the hopes of eventually moving out" stash. lol

Good idea. I had a storage unit full of "stuff for when I move out" stash before I got my own place. All I know is I cant go wrong with purses for my wife

I have several possibilities for my mom. At first she said she wanted a bonsai tree but we've already done that. I always thought she'd like a roomba vacuum but she says its a piece of junk. So far I think a dwarf maple tree has hit #1 but I don't know if it does ok in pots. The pot needs to be permanent and I can never change the pot as its custom built to hold 1100 lbs. Its somewhere between 5-15 gallon size. Its huge. About 2 foot diameter, 30" tall. Trunk cannot be in excess of 3"-6" thick or it will hit solid stone. Cannot obstruct view across the table so absolutely no low-hanging branches. I thought the canopy look (like an umbrella) would be nice. Has to survive Norcal winters/summers. Weather isn't below freezing here but its still cold. ~40°-60° F winter/ 80-95+ Summer. Humidity is very dry. Less than 30%. Not a whole lot of rain but I don't mind watering it a lot. No snow or ice here. Well it hasn't snowed here in 8 years, it RARELY happens and when it does it lasts a few hours and its just a trickle. But it can happen. So I guess hardy is preferable.

I think they sell woks at public or Walmart or target for pretty cheap not too sure .never know what my elders want they never tell me

Im buying a present for my girlfriend, brother, brother in law, sister, the parents and my grandparents. Im thinking about getting my brother an Iphone 5 for christmas. He's 11 years old :) Maybe a new purse for my mom and girlfriend. Fishing pole for my dad and maybe clothes for the rest.

Too early for me. Need black Friday ads to find best deals

I've heard amazon.com and Walmart will be doing same day delivery for shopping online though. Another major retailer (I forget which) will be testing one hour delivery in SF only

My man, we need to do black friday shopping lol.

I like black friday shopping. Don't know if I'll be working yet though....

And I don't want to get the cheapest wok out there. I want a good, quality, reasonably priced one. Something that will last. And I don't know if I want the electric one or not....so many freakin choices!!!! Grrr... :irked:
