The color of heat

Both of this pic's are the same fish about a week apart. No flash, just tank lights. The only thing that changed is the water temp went from 78 to 84. His kok popped a little and his color lightened drastically.

You have proven a well know fact is all... This is kinda common knowledge in FH forums IMO. Now you have to decide which you prefer... A larger head or a brighter color... Choice 3 would be right in the middle at 81...

Actually it does mean that it will get smaller if you lower the temperature. I keep my flowerhorn tanks between 78*-82*. I would probably go to 84* if electricity wasn't so damn expensive. Warmer water also increases fishes metabolism which = faster growth.
