The Coolest and Most Useful tank gadget ever !

My Tank is remote controlled.

I'm going to post some tank shots soon but in the meantime, I bought this gadget from Maplin in London.

So it's a remote control that comes with four plugs.
You plug the filter into one, the light into another and and the airpump into the third.

My fourth plug is free.
You then plug them all into the mains

The remote has for channels.
At the push of a button (upto 20feet realistically) I can switch on the light or blow air bubbles through the tank.
Its sweet, Get one!

I have similar ones on all my tanks except my big one, and that has an Aquacontroller. Each strip has 6 outlets that are on the remote and two that are always on. Not quite as flexible as yours but remote none the less. My big tank is controlled by my laptop and my iPhone.

remote is the way to go!! I like yours too. I'll have to get one to check out, which gives me another excuse for a new tank lol

^^ I run my lights on a separate powerstrip. Pumps on one, lights on another. Remote is for filtration only which is perfect for feeding if you have surface skimming tanks or for doing water changes. One button on and off. I think i paid $15 for mine at target.

Here is my set-up at present.
The gadget really is great.

Yeah, you're right, if you have a timer then you don't really need the remote control ability.
Its great for water change time. I have my filters and heater really low down in the tank so I can do upto a 50% water change without needing to switch off the filter or heater.
If you have iphone or laptop connectivity then that rocks.
How does that work, I'd love to be able to do that on my tank!

^^ It's one of the features on my Aquacontroller. iPhone app is called aqua notes. it gives me access to all the outlets via switches and almost all programming. As long as I have wifi, I can access the system

but why would you need to change it so often, maybe i'm just not getting it, i have an aquacontroller junior on my saltwater and rarely touch it.

You really wouldn't for most things especially once programmed, but I travel a lot and being able to access things remotely is just some added pom for me. By no means a necessity.
