The cop shooting that deserves attention

Picturing a young cop, really inexperienced, probably panicked.

Guns are a problem period. Guy the other day killed his son because they were at the shooting range and a hot casing fell down his shirt and he flailed his arms cuz it burned him, dead kid. Guy was a shooting instructor or certified in something IIRC.

I think this shooting story would still make headlines if the guy was white, at least I hope it would. Just sucks because those marginalized in society really are the likely ones to shoot at a cop, but I mean if you live in the ghetto and stuff you sometimes cant help but carry a gun or even be involved in that sort of lifestyle to a degree just by virtue of where you grew up or how much money your family had. And cops should very well be scared of being shot at because straight up, they get shot at and die too, the issue with the race debate sucks because its a vicious circle, hard to blame one person or group. To 100% say he was shot because he was black, the only person to know that would be the shooting cop. Will he admit it at least played a factor in his decision, especially if he's been fired at by a group of gang members before? This 100% deserves a riot IMO, but last thing it needs is a riot that only the black community participates in as I think that adds to the vicious circle, EVERYONE should be pissed that this happened.

Was going to post this one in my gun shooting thread. At first glance I thought snoop dog. When news first broke on this, they didn't say if the cop saw his gun or not(I still don't know on this).

Seems cops are trigger happy.

Ive personally had guns aimed at me by cops multiple times. I've dealt with bad cops quite a few times. I have crazy stories I can share. I was blasted on the front page of every news paper and tv station for standing up to the police (without violence). I'm a white guy from the suburbs so it's not a race issue. I'm also very well trained with firearms and how to deal with situations. I understand that these cops are on edge a lot dealing with the daily war on the streets but they chose that career. One thing you have to realize no matter who you are. If you have a gun and resist you are probably gonna get shot.

Hello; Calling for a riot at any time seems wrong. Calling for a riot before the whole story is known is worse. There is a method for dealing with these incidents, let it play out.
A riot puts other people at risk and often results in serious property damage. Folks have lost their stores and a way to make a living.

Another effect of these riots has been called "the Furgerson effect". Where police in communities have backed off from taking action to a large extent. It is my understanding the folks in these communities now have much more criminal actions to face. Yeah, they got to vent their frustration and for some a chance to loot and burn, but how is their life now?

I think you are wrong to call for a riot.

Wholeheartedly agreed.

Hello; Words on the Internet aren't meant to be taken literally in most situations. Did I mean a full fledged riot that involves looting and property destruction? No. Did I mean a demonstration in the community as well as a social media riot putting this issue on blast via the medium most people respond to? Absolutely. If you literally think that I would advocate for more violence as a response to violence, then I seriously hope you personally don't own any fire arms.
