The Craziest Set-Up I've Ever Seen!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
That's really not to far out there. I have systems similar to this. I'm building one like this for a doctors office right now. When I'm done, the filter and related equipment will hold more water than the display tank.

It's not for everyone but I dig these type of systems.

yah i bet, I have seen better set-ups though, that one is alright

that tank is weak for a reef tank. no halides at all. not too many corals either. i like my tanks filled to the brim with life. i think the tanks with all the different colored Acropora spp. and other various small polyped stony encrusting corals look the best with giant clams and maybe some anthias and clown gobies. i think the set up was made to look more brilliant to the untrained reefer. not too special but it DOES have potential. thanks for sharing. sorry for bashing ya

I think he was referring to the plumbing and filtration situation that is located in the basement below the tank. For a smaller scale, domestic tank, I would say that is a pretty complex set-up. Most things you see like that are for 200g+ tanks, or elaborate reef tanks. I dont understand all the live-rock and no fish/coral deal though.. Hrm

If you read the whole listing you will note that he has sold everything off except the liverock. All the fish and coral were sold to a LFS.

I would hate to see the cost of setting that system up.

Thanks Miles.
I was talking the plumbing and basement set-up. I just thought that was nuts. The aquascaping itself is average, but all the work that went into the pumps and filtration is great! I'm also originally from the NC mountains, where a 10-gallon tank is far out there.
