i've been waiting for my delhezi bichir which i ordered in my lps for AGES! it's been more than 4 months since ordered for one. i am impatient as H#LL!!! not only that Icalled my lps several times, I also posted a load of adds in kijiji (it's like craiglists) if any one had one for sale. No luck. In my province in canada, Ontario, delhezi are only for sale once in a blue moon (in my case it is). finally, yesterday, I phone a pet store which was an hour away from my house. Believe it or not, they said they had some stock!!! Hallaluya! after so many phone calls, this is it. the next morning (today) my dad took me to the store. and there it was severl beautiful 4 inch delhezis for 25 bucks! obviously, i bought one. Now I have question, i already have a senegalus bichir of 4 inches in my 30 gal tank (only fish apart from my delhezi). When I put my new delhezi in my tank, both fish became skittish. i've kept several bichirs before, but after i've seen my senegulas attack his old wolf fish tank mate of 7 inches, I got a littled alarmed that my sen might attack the del too! does anyone have experience of having skittish new bichirs?

They are just not used to each other yet. Spend some time, if they attack, seperate. I got my senegal and delhezi on the same time in the same tank at the LFS so they have already got acquainted.

Congrats on the rare delhezi over there, I understand the feeling as I've been waiting/looking like forever for my palma polli. gotta love some pics!!!
 
congratulations, the first time i went to a real LFS I got their last delhezi but they're much more expensive here, 39 bucks and he was probably 2 inches at that point, he's closer to 5" now though, i also know the feeling of waiting, I asked a store to get me in a retropinnis and they've been trying to find one for over 2 months ;\
 
I just put a baby senegal and endichri together. Came in one day and the endichri had the senegals head in its mouth. but i introduce a small delhezi and a bigger ornate together with no problems. I reall think it depends on the personality of the fish.
Plenty of hiding spots can really make a diffrence.

thanks, palmas are also extremely rare here in canada too. never seen one anywhere exept for in the enternet.;)

How long did it take for the delhezi to grow from 2 inches to 5 inches. My mom always wanted a fish with a faster growth rate. my albino senegulas only grew less than 2 inches in 6 month!!! how big can a del grow in one month and year? thanks
