i've been planning for this day, for a couple weeks now. its the day i move my big guys from inside the house, to the garage into there new home. i planned and planned and planned and it still didnt go as planned. my heart dropped and i almost had a stroke... i wanted to start off using the pillow case since it seemed the easiest and less stressful for the fish. can't see, but stuck inside. first went the jardini, got him in the pillow case, gettin ready to pull him up and out then all of a sudden BAM! BAM! BAM! splash splash splash... i look over to my right and what do i see. BOOM! 2 silver aros in that strike position and BAM, the blast thru the lid and the 2 silvers come flying out the tank doing a dive bomb onto the ground. my jaw drops as i still have the jardini in the pillow case waiting to be pulled out. i grab my rubbermaid container and skoot the biggest into the container and run outside with him to put it in the 400. i run back in and scramble around to find my smaller aro on the other side of the couch. skoot him into the container and run him outside and toss him in the 400, then i run back inside and grab the pillow case with the jardini still in it, and run him outside into the 400.

exactly what i DIDNT want to happened. happened... all his scales are effed up. his fins are ripped up. front arm fins are now ripped up. and he has got to me more freaked out then me... expect the unexpected in every occation no matter how much planning you do. atleast there in now but damn that did NOT go as planned. ill post pics in a few mins, im still freaked out

what a bummer man. But hey there in there and safe be happy. Fins heal fast and u know they are happier than being in the 150.

the best-laid plans of mice and men...

at least its now over, and hopefully they will heal fast for you and return to their former selves :) good luck!

wow should have hooked up a video camera for that one so we could see. tough luck...i hope the best for your aros.

That sucks, but your fish should be fine....In the long run they'll be happier!:nilly:

That really sucks! I hate it when that happens.

Next time try using large clear bags(thick ones from LFS), double them up and with a little time and patients the aro can be tricked into swimming in the bag, then drain out enough water to be moved.

Best of luck.

damn dude that sucks
next time have someone help you. that way the can guard the other end of the tank.

hope all is all right

mike

they'll heal...jeesus!

that sucks bigtime. I hope he recovers.

maybe try using a dip net to catch them?

how long does it take for the scales to heal, or do they?
