These are my 2 floridas bought at the same time at the same size around 10", the now larger one is "16 and the other is "12. The large one eats massivore pellets, i put the growth down to this:naughty:

what does the other one eat? it may not be so much that the one eats massivore, but what the other one is eating that may be holding it back. at the same time, they don't look terribly different in terms of condition from this photo, so it may be that one just has the genetics for slightly larger growth.

impressive specimens reGARdless--

PS-- FYI i have nothing against massivore...i add it to the regular feedings of shrimp, tilapia, and smelt that i feed to my gars.

i second sol. I dont feed pellets at all, and my main gar hit 17" in less than 1 year. of course now he isnt gettin any bigger but is getting thicker.

Great looking gars. Mine still aren't into pellets. My Florida will grab them, consider them, and then drop them. They love their assortment of frozen food.

(Except for my stubborn Spotted, still taking almost entirely live food, thanks a lot Solomon! Jk--- :))

Hi, they both eat prawn, smelt and mussle, the bigger of the two had its growth spurt after it started eating the massivore i give to my rays, that said it could just be coinsidence. I agree the pic is rubbish ill post up a better one soon.
