Man, it's hard to believe that I haven't posted pics of this guy in over a year. I love my pyxies, but I have to say that this guy has a special place in my heart. If I had to get rid of all but one critter, he'd be the one staying. So here he is. My buddy, The Dingers...

After about 3 years this is the only frog that I haven't gotten somewhat bored with!

Thanks for lookin'.

I've never seen this type of frog before.. but I love him! He looks a little like Kermit.. except for the coloring.

Thanks a bunch folks! :D Glad you guys like the Ding! He's awesome indeed! :D And Bottomfeeder, I recommend the guys 100%! Especially if you're a frog fan! Very interesting and rewarding species!

Pretty easy care in my exp. I use a 10 Gallon Tank with one of Fluvals submersible filter systems. I do water changes on a weekly basis to keep it as clean as possible (but the frog ALWAYS soils it immediately!). I feed this guy twice a week or so, he gets 3 - 4 bigger nightcrawlers per feeding. 2 - 3 times a month I dust his worms with a herptivite / rep-cal mix.

The part that a lot of people are worried about is the estivation process. I've never had any issues with it. At the beginning of June I take Dingbat out of his normal habitat, and I place him in a large kritter keeper that has about 8 or so inches of coco-fiber in it. He burrows down and estivates for about three / four months. A lot of people do this during the winter months, but my Budgett's never shows interest until later in the year. So I let him crash when he chooses. Stop feeding the frog a week or so before estivation, and make sure he poops before putting him / her down. And remember not to let the soil dry out completely. I always keep it somewhat moist while hes down there.

Nice Budgett's! My roommate used to have one. It was definitely not a boring frog.

love it. i have been looking at getting one for like 5 years, never been able to find one that was in state, cause i hear they don't ship well. i had a bullfrog and understand they are like the beginers version of a budgets frog.
