I added a king betta i fell in love with at petsmart. He gets along great with everyone and is active and feeding well to the 90 gallon.

One day I found him in my filter sock! I had to repair a small whole he was slipping through into and into the sump lol. He’s got spunk and is beautiful. Going from an Arowana setup and nothing but predator setups for years.. to a community aquarium has been eye opening. I love these docile fish who interact with us and I get to have more fish in the end, so I’m all good haha. I love this setup. Anyways....

Have you guys kept betta as with discus? How’d it go if so? I fell in love with the idea of the King bettas about a year ago when I found out they were even a species now lol. Let me know what you guys think! I’d appreciate any input.

Sorry for the crappy pics my lighting is dim so I had to use flash lolz

Might be a beginner fish to many, but I love bettas, loads of curiosity and personality if they get half a chance in a decent size tank ime. So, yes, I kept them with discus at times and they got on quite well.

Clown loaches-- I did that too at one point, my wife wanted them because they're cute. But I found that the cute, little, innocuous buggers at 2" get pushy as they get more size to them, so I ended up removing them. Not aggressive, exactly, but pushy in their goofy clown loach way. Nice fish in the right tank, but eventually a nuisance in a discus tank ime.

Yeah I originally had eight clown loaches but couldn’t catch three so they stayed. For now atleast. But they do make sure there’s no eaten food left lol. My mom got me a red male betta for Christmas when I was like eight or nine and I fell in love with the hobby. I’ve never had a tank this size, this is my first time with discus. I was warned about how difficult they were to keep. People on simply discus are telling me to AT LEAST do %50 water changes daily on my 90 gallon. Enough said.
