the Diy overflow wont restart?

I built a DIY overflow as per the directions in the sticky.

It works fantastic, nice and quiet when im testing it in the laundry sink. but i cant get it to re-start once i break the siphon.

my tube off the T is as high as the U going into the tank, both U's are the same depth...

what could be causing such thing?

my power has been kinda shaky in the area latley so i dont wanna risk running it until i know that its going to be safe

i was just gonna say that about the check valve haha. its the easiest way ive experienced to start overflow siphons

what kind of a check valve do you use .. the only one i found that was made to fit my PVC (1 1/4") was way to stiff to allow good flow if any flow at all.. (it was for pressured lines not gravity fed water)

they do more than just start the siphon. they ensure the pipe will keep running properly. definitely a crucial piece of the overflow.
i actually prefer to use a ball valve to start the siphon on mine. but the check valve is great for priming the overflow.

Maybe the T needs to be lower
