Or the "Ghetto-reef" as my buddies have dubbed it ;). 45 gal tall (36"x24"x12"). Disclaimer: This only works do to a lack of fish lol, don't try this with your tangs/clowns/angels etc.

I started this tank as a pile of fresh live rock, a 150 watt HQI and three little powerheads, just to see what would grow off the rock. After half a year I started adding soft coral frags and recently added a fish and LPS corals. Been going for 13 months so far. I feed/top-up the tank with the water I thaw the frozen food for my preds in. Only problem is the plague of red flatworms that infest the tank, they don't damage anything, but look bad :)

An almost perfect ecosystem...ph 8.0, 0 nitrate. Macro-algae consumes nitrate, tapwater provides mineral supplements.[/QUOTE]
 
Nope, I used to on my old reef...this one is an experiment lol.
