In search of the almost lost species, the hump back mahseer, a mahseer from the river cauvery.

We found pickled and dried specimens at the natural history museum.

The work and search and research, being done by mahseer trust, I just tagged along for the ride.

Sounds exciting. So are you part of the team? You're so lucky to be so close to the action. I'm jealous.

I am not a part of the team, as these people are mostly anglers, and I am a worse than a noob when it comes to that, although the river stretch where they plan to do research and conservation, some part of that river bank happens to be our farmhouse.

Wow...envious of your proximity to one of my favorite groups of fish. Please don't be shy with photos...this is the type of stuff that gets my heart rate elevated.
