I just noticed this eye on my Delhezi. Should medicate or wait if it comes to heal itself? It is probably hit the eye somewhere.silmä.pngsilmä2.jpgsilmä3.png

Best thing to do if your not sure, water changes. Test your water make sure nitrites, amon, nitrates are under control, filters cleans, good diet.

Is that brown algae on the plants? If so your nitrates could be high or light level might be too low, might be time for new bulb. Good healthy plants with no algae on them or in the tank will help with your water quality.

yeah, just keep the water clean, up the water change schedule for a few weeks and it should clear up.

Clean water and some salt will take care of the problem

Thank you. The first thing I did was change the water. Nitrates 10, amon 0 and nitrites 0. It's been a while since I've cleaned the external filter. Perhaps it is indeed time to check out.

This algae may very well be just that brown algae. I'm not sure. I have fight with this alga with for nearly three years. If you have a magic trick on how to get rid of it. I would really appreciate information. Replace the bulbs T8 once a year. The following exchange is still four months.

It's not water quality if your parameters are that low. And generally with water quality issues you'll see some clouding in both eyes anyway. pH issues can cause cloudy eyes too, but again, usually both eyes are affected.

I'm thinking he scratched it and got it infected.

I usually use erythromycin for general bacterial infections, though I know other people have different preferences. I've used it for years and it works quickly and effectively for me.
It's best to use in a quarantine tank. I've not had issues with it killing my biobacteria, but others have claimed to. It's expensive to treat a regular sized tank anyway.

You can wait a few days and see if it starts to clear on its own, but you don't want to wait around forever since the eye can eventually become damaged from a long term infection.

I have Waterlife Myxazin in my closet. Probably I'll try it today If eye is no better, when I get back home from work.

Good to know. He's a healthy guy if he's healing that quick :)
