i just re-did my display tank in my front room. black beauty sand, 35lbs of lava rock, and a new stock list. at first i was thinking of making a mexican biotope so i went with my pair of h.bartoni, ex cichlasoma grammodes, and ex cichlasoma salvini. then i decided that my festaes would look nice in there too, so that threw off the biotope since the festae come from ecuador. any ways here are some vids that were taken as soon as the fish hit the water.

this is basically being used as a growout tank. there is no way that all these fish can live together. just trying to build up each pair's bond. i've been watching them all morning and its going smooth now. everyone has decided where their boundaries are.
 
Leave it in (Festae), its not like the grammodes, salvini and bartoni come from same system either! Those guys would never see each other in nature.

yea i know. i was going to throw my yellow labridens and carpintis in there but changed my mind
 
All beautiful fish man. I think you just made me want to collect bartoni and labridens from the Media Luna, sometime next year.

Beautiful fish, sometimes they have to lip lock, usually when the tank is changed around or new fish is added from diffrent location.
