many say to me, that maintain Channa Pleurophthalma is hard!

no I do not believe it, but I've fallen in love with pleurophthalma so I was ready with all its consequences!

okay let's see Selendang Mayang (a nickname for this fish in my country Indonesia)

nice pleuros :D theres not too much to worry about for their care. I keep mine at 27C and at a ph of 7. they're really easy to take care of as are most snakeheads. Pleuros are pretty fragile when they're young though but that's nothing you need to worry about as they're a nice size

any idea about there growth rate? had mine for at least 6 months

from my experience, they grow to about 12" with decent feeding within about 8 months but from then on its a huge grind. their growth rate is slowed so much... a friend told me it took him 3 years total for his fish to reach 16 inches after their growth rate plateaued at around 12"

are you feeding everyday?
how big is your tank?

I feed them, 3 days

to keep them wild and always ferocious in terms of eating

My tank size

length 120
width 50
high 60

all glass tanks

for everyone who replied to my post this I thank you:)

my tank is 180 US gallons and i feed them everyday (i don't overfeed them though because im afraid it might stunt their growth), im not sure the size of my friends tank be he has a 300 as well as a few other tanks so i imagine it was a pretty big tank as well

i see, i keep mine in a 240 gal tank. they are now aprox 6 to 8 inches. i only feed mine every other day. hope they continue to grow! i'm pretty excited to see them big and colorful :)

also, any other kind of snakehead that grows to about 14 to 16 inches only and has interesting pattern and color? i'd like to mix it with my pleuros :)
