So my Jewels bred again. The fry are to small for the fry tank, so I am keeping them in the 75 with the other fish. There are 2 HOB filters, and the parents don't keep the fry away from the filter all that well. I took the media out of the filter, so they wouldn't be living in there. Now they get sucked up, and spit out. For the most part, they survive. The ones that don't feed the other fish. I am getting rid of all my Jewels in a couple of days, I can't wait.

you shouldnt have taken out the filter media.
a better way is to put sponge on the inlet of the filterto prevent them from being sucked in.

At this point, they are food. The parents are chasing and attacking everything. They will be eaten if I leave them in this tank, or put them in the fry tank.

whats the point of a fry tank if there goin to get eaten?

It doesn't, it just kept cycling the water. The other pump was filtering it. I did just put the media back in, and a nylon over the intake. I thought about it, and it is probably more horrific being put through the filter, than just being eaten.

The fry in the fry tank, are big enough to eat the smaller fry, but not big enough to not get eaten in the other tanks.
