This topic has got me going. We only see albino pearl Leo or motoro?
Why not any pearl albino hybrids? Most of the albino stock is in Asia where they seem to be working so hard to breed them togather. Now I know two albinos will not create albinos. And I know it's possible to breed albino with a non albino and breed back to get albinos. But why no crazy albino hybrids yet?? Or maybe the are still on step two .

I'm starting to emagine the colorfull rays we are going to see soon.
Emagine a the many pools of weird Asian sp rays we all see. Throw a horny albino male into one of those pools and eventually breeding back we will see those ugly sp rays with funky patterns all pink orange and white???? They wouldn't look so ugly than. But again don't know how far along the albino programs are if they have even been able to produce them. I beleive it's a 3-4 generation breeding program. Back and fourth and their really isn't fresh genetics they are all going to be interbred ?
The possibiltys are endless emagine top quality marble x pearl albino!

Chip in guys!

Albinism is a recessive gene genetic mutation/disorder.
Both parents must carry the gene to produce offspring that show it.
It is also associated with other health problems.
This is not in any way a desirable characteristic imo.
But some enjoy breeding sad deformed fish mutants as novelty pets.

Reduced eye sight and increased sensitivity to the sun is not much of a problem for a stingray kept in a tank.

@Calgaryflames albino x albino should result in 100% albino offspring. :-)

Yes two albinos will create albino babies but I meant two rays carrying the albino genes will not always or may not create albinos.
If you started with one albino you could breed it with another ray and get pups that are 50% albino and none will be albino but carry the genes. You need to breed back with that albino and you'd get albinos possibly.and keep on breeding back so on and do fourth a few generations and youl start getting albino pups from rays that may not even show the albino gene.

Your first post just states that two albinos wont create albinos. Dident know if it was a type-o or not. So nevermind. :-)

There will be a day when albinos are no longer expensive .i used to be into reptiles and same sorta thing with them. Albinos were thousands now they are a common commodity . Asia is all about the money I guarantee they are mass producing them some place as we speak

I've read in rare cases albinism has been passed down through only one albino carrying parent. I wonder if any rare cases of albinism that two albinos produced a normal offspring?
