How do you think they'll behave in a planted tank?

They could uproot all your plants and even eat them. They seem to like plant based foods more as adults. At least the ones I had did. Carrots and peas were favored most.

I'm assuming you're referring to Leporanthicus Galaxias? I would avoid a planted tank-- they can be bulldozers as they mature and like Jackson noted, they are omnivorous and may chew.

i agreee about leporicanthicus g. i had an adult in a planted tank and he was constantly re-arranging things and uprooting my plants. he even went so far as to tear down the rock caves i had set up every few days, i think just to spite me.

Java fern, java moss, and anubias growing on branches/stumps in the upper parts of the tank would likely be ok. I have some "potted" plants, and so far they seem safe from getting eaten or destroyed by my L7, L204 and L91. I used to have an L264 in that tank, which sadly did not survive the move, and it would eat the base of amazon sword plants. Crypts don't seem to be too tasty.

and once in a while you will run across a bratty Galaxy that will even eat java ferns.
