The Georgia Aquarium

I'm off to the US in April to catch the Springsteen gigs in Atlanta, Charlotte and Greensboro I'm also planning(the wife sighs in the background) a visit to the Georgia Aquarium, just wondered if any of you guys had been and what look out for etc. Specifically what are the freshwater exhibits like ? Also is there an aquarium in the Charlotte or Greensboro area ?

Well I don't know how far you are willing to drive or how much time you have, but there is the Fort Fisher Aquarium at Kure Beach (in NC). Here's the link if you are interested.

GA Aquarium is awesome! My girlfriend and i went last 4th of July for the first time and were plannin on goin back again. The jewfish are RIDICULOUS!!! U definetly wont miss them or the whale shark...there was supposed to be a huge hammerhead in the big tank when we were there but we never saw him the river exhibit was my favorite with the flathead catfish, blues, channels, bluegills, striped bass, etc. Its definetly worth it!

Sorry to be any of a downer, Atlanta has had some problems. Within the last year or so they lost a whale shark and a bunch of the freshwater got sick. I was there in January and some of the fish that should be in the tank you are looking at, aren't there.

I'm not saying Atlanta is bad, just they have had some problems recently. It's still worth going and Centennial Park is a neat area.

Everything there is awesome. The whale shark tank is amazing. Go and take your time.

The Coke museum is right next door, as is a great children's museum if you have young'uns...
