The most common species of killifish available to aquarists, the golden wonder or yellow panchax, is a superb fish for aquarists looking at medium-sized communities. It spend nearly all time at the surface of the water, because they hunt flying insects.

They are great fish, I have a pair. And they take care of themselves well.

got a pic? you may want to just email it to me because i think mfk are hoarding pics

The one problem people seem to miss with these guys is that once they reach around 3"+ they eat guppy sized fish, an adult pair can clean out your shoal of neons overnight.

They look like they have a small mouth, but mine managed to cram a whole algae disc in his mouth and he is about 2".

Not only is this fish sizable for a killifish, it has a formidable mouth. I divided my ten gal. in two for a time to raise my young platies. My killafish, at 3.5'', jumped to thier side of the tank through a hollow in the hood and injested seven of my young fish. Do not keep this fish near smaller fish as they will eat them if they can. One neat aspect in caring for this fish is that they will willingly finger feed and some specimins will even jump for food.

I have a male killie....and they are varatious eaters!!! Mine like to stuff himself with freeze dried krill, bloodworms, and he loves frozen krill!!! Occasionally I will pop some fedder guppies in there for him...and he just goes crazy!!!
