my mangrove escaped out of his cage.i heard something scurring around ,and thought it was my boston terrier,i letter found out it was my mangrove monitor,i had to chase him all over to get him back.

Glad you found him, seriously though if you plan on keeping him please build it a larger home 6'x3'x2' minimum.

it is, at least imo, not horribly small but still you're talking about a lizard that will get to be over 3ft long and a tank that small wouldn't allow for much activity other than basking. i've never seen locks for aquarium lids, i'd imagine you can easily make one though. i've never had anything that was a real pain about pushing open lids(except when the cat wanted my skink, nothing could stop it)

That's why I put minimum
regardless it's better than a 55 gallon. I posted 3 different caresheets (in his other threads) and that was the average minimum size they recommended but whatever...
