The Great Lenticulata vs. Strigata Debate

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Hi Markus ~ Just saw your post this a.m. on the other site. Shunichi's pics & info are great ! Waitin for his continuation next week... Aren't the JACUNDA incredible???

I'm really startin to think the 'red-form' lent we bought a few months ago ~
IS NOT LENTICULATA ! ! . . . . Her face spots are quite smaller and getting fainter, and the body 'stress pattern' is differant, almost like a cincta. Thanks for your attention to this quandry, your photos & observations are appreciated. Time will tell what these fish grow into... very interesting!

damn, those are interesting posts, definitely keep us updated on this debate and topic

I think that George might have actually had some true lenticulata as of late. This is very discouraging in a way, cuz that means that a main majority of the fish being sold as lenticulata end up NOT being lenticulata....lol. I'm gonna start ordering from Oliver, and see if his lents are the real deal or not...lol.

let us know Peanut, man, the more I look at those Lents, the more I want one.

What makes you say that George had real lents?

He had some A LONG time ago, I think it was almost three years ago now. They showed the characteristics of the true lents like what you were showing in your pictures. The deep, wide bars, lots of spangling, pronouced humeral blotch. I don't know if he has gotten in any since then, but at one time he DID have them.
