Today on my trip to omaha, i went to the cabelas, and wow, what an awesome native tank.

had to be in the 10's of thousands of gallons, and it housed many bluegill and crappie, with some short noes and a giant long nose gar. the largest longnose had to be 3-4 feet. It also had blue catfish, the largest being around 40 lbs's! and LMB, around 5 lbs, stripers and all kinds of cool large natives.

If you think that is great, you should see the native exhibit at Underwater Adventures.

The huge gar just freaking amazed me. i can't see how people can keep these gars in normal aquaria, it cruised the whole tank, and when it wanted a minnow, it got one! with authority!

Or just come swimming here in the springs in N. Florida. Ginnie, Blue, Rainbow River, Manatee, Alexander, Poe....

Nope, its these moments i wish i had a camera phone!

i don't see how people can house gars anymore. That sucker was a good 4 feet if you include his snout.
