The H.O.T. Magnum Bio pro system.

Anyone know anything about this Filter System. I was given a 30 gallon salt water setup and it came with this filter.

Is this filter all I need to run a 30 gallon FOWLR tank?

Absolutely not adiquate! Here's the thing with canisters and salt water. Salt water holds O2 a hell of a lot less easy than fresh. SOOOO your fish are gonna be gasping for air being that their kidneys are working overtime to get rid of the salt in there system.... bottom line is O2 is Very very very important to salties and you wont be giving them any. Rule of thumb is: High turn over rate= more surface aggitation= more O2. You also need alot of suface are in the tank/filter for nitrifying bacteria, wich live rock will provide. You could use it as a water polisher, but I would definetley add power heads and another filter, Big emporer should do fine with the additions I've listed. I'm sure someone else will tell you something different but thats the nature of the hobby. Different things work for different people. Hope this helps
