I have the space to keep one but want to know this:
To anyone who has kept one-
How fast do they grow?
Are they aggressive?
If they are aggressive, are they aggressive if they are raised with their tank mates from a small size, will they still be aggressive if they have a large enough space?
Are they “I see you as food” aggressive or “come in my space and I’ll kill you” aggressive (sort of like mbuna)
Do they have teeth?
Would they be able to go with these tank mates:
2x Indo tarpon
1x largemouth bass
1x peacock bass (Temensis)
1x hybrid striped bass
Thank you!

What cichlid are you referring to as there are a few with that title depending on where they are located.

Tell us about the dimensions of this space? As you probably know, microlepis grow to 36” 😜
Tanganyika conditions are on opposite ends of the water parameter spectrum than a lot of the South American waters…

10x4x2 to start, it’s an in ground with a liner, so I could always expand. I’ve heard that they can tolerate my ph 6.8, and the plan is to give it a late start on grow out to lower aggression, so it is always treated as the smallest in the tank and never tries to stand up to a 3 ft Temensis. From what I’ve heard they only max at 24-28 in captivity, so we’ll see. Could always rehome
