Well, my baby silver aro has been eating like a pig for the last month and a half. I have been mixxing up his diet with hikari food sticks, freeze dried blood worms, freeze dried shrimp, freezed dried brine shrimp , a little spirulina and astaxanthin powder as well. For the last week he has been demanding the brine shrimp and now he's on a food strike or something. What can be making him react this way? Is he just starting to do the teenage BS or what? He is about 4 inches or so and is in a 55 gallon until I build him a 100 gallon tank, which is actually going to be soon enough. His final home will eventually be in a 200 gallon! with a clown knife and maybe a freshwater ray. But, geez...he acting like a pissed off ex-girlfriend or something. Any help would be greatly appreciated, this is only the second baby silver that I have ever taken care of from egg sack but this guy went from super promising carnivore to coked out super model in no time. What to do? What to do?:irked::(:screwy::1zhelp::help2::shakehead:headshake:duh::uhoh::redface::mad::nilly:

throw in a small circket and then see what happens

you know what, this actually worked for my other aro in the past when he was a toddler. Thankx I'll try.....Thing is its so damn expensive he in hawaii. $8 for a dozen of crickets what a rip off. And there is only one fish store and not petstores for anything other than cats and dogs.

Mine did the same as yours, was tiny, went uphill, took off, grew an inch, had a voracious appetite then it stopped eating. Then it just got worse..I held it uder the air bubbles all night, their survival rate at this size is 30%. I hope this isn't your case too. I thought mine maybe got an intestinal block because it stopped defecating. I had fed it a fairly large cricket and I think the fish couldn't handle it.

Check your water params, up the temp to 82, add a little salt and maybe an extra airstone.

Good luck-Mei
