I went out and got another Jardini this afternoon after spending a bit of my lunch break on MFK. After moving my previous Jardini+Koi to a much larger tank, I had a left over 30 gallon. I hadn't bother to empty it and being that it's already cycled, I thought ehh what the hell. It's relatively very small, probably brooded not too long ago. No bigger than 3 inches and the only big things on it are the eyes. It's rather comical to watch it swim around. It's actually one of the later spawns of the season since Jardini's usually spawn in spring... The fish store told me that it was the last one in stock that size and no one would buy it so I bought it on a whim at a discount. It's sort of the runt of the litter and gives off that underdog feeling. I don't know if it's the LFS's fault but it's tail fin is just slightly deformed, it has a little portion that is shorter than the rest. I'm not sure if it was bitten or if the water quality at the LFS was bad. It'll grow back in time but at present it's a little noticeable. It makes me sad to see that no one would buy it for a defect so small and so easily cared for. I hope this turns into an living incarnation of the ugly duckling ;).

Let's see a pic.

He looks pretty good to me. I hope you got a good deal on him.

Good deal. Good luck with this guy. Keep us updated.
