the magical mysterious disapearing fish

i have a 15g set up right now with 4 very small, about 1 in convicts, two pairs, about a week ago one of them disapeared, i also have a clown pleco and figured it died and the clown pleco had made a quick meal out of his remains

i wake up this morning and there are about 50 fry swimming around my tank and she has reappread, the weird thing is all i have in there for cover right now is a moss ball and a rock, i searched the tank for her and she never even came out when i did a water change.

do convicts guard the egges until they hatch?

i dont noe how ur fish disappeared but convicts do protect their eggs pretty well. when i bred convicts and tried to stick my hands in the tank the parents would nip at my hands
