the most expensive cichla

I forgot to answer the other part of your question

which type of cichla has the nicest color/patterns?

In all reality it doesn't matter what others think , If YOUR going to take your money to buy the fish , and YOUR going to take your money and pay the high electric and water bill and YOUR the one going to be doing all the maintenence on the tank and YOUR the one going to have to look at and enjoy the fish don't you think the only opinion that really matters here is YOURS ?[
not True This game is all about showing off wether u admit it or not ,what other people think about your fish keep the interest alive or destroy it .. its a Hobby , all about uniqueness and beauty, a nice compliment makes the day

You are tying different things together....Cichla like all other fish in the hobby are seasonal. That which is readily available today may not be in 6 months, and therefore the price will relate to that. Pay enough attention, and youll see a whole bunch of keepers after the cichla they cant have, and as soon as it becomes available, no longer interested. Look 6 months back and youll see people asking for Orinos, Xingu, and Tems....all became available...what are they after now. Piquiti is starting back into the market...

As for best colors? I still say a nice Mono is hard to beat with the strong red yellow and black as well as green ;)

The value of kelberi has plummeted a bit....

Sharkaquarium has not sold 1 kelberi from the same tank I got mine 2 months ago. The same 5 still remain for $189.99. I think the days of paying $200 or more for 4 inch kelberi are over. Kelberi are obviously overpriced in NJ.

I was at sharkaquarium 2 days ago. I love going there.

Rapps has wild Rio Meta orinos for $15 so orinos are pretty cheap now.

I would assume Azul is still high because I never even saw anyone locals selling them.

Xingu are the high priced ticket now.

Spoken like a pro. true true
Mono is what got me into cichlas.
Got any intermedias Laz? Definitely interested.

I would say a xingu or azul at the moment would be one of the more expensive bass out there...Nice kel's are up there to...

i think the cichla' price depends on their rarity

but when somebody can bred them, the price is just started to going down

imho fogo is the rarest and probably the most expensive
