It’s been a couple months of moving things, cleaning sand and waiting but I finally moved my lungfish from his 20L tank to the 75g today. I was initially a bit worried that he would struggle to reach the surface since this tank is quite a bit deeper than his old home but the little guy seems to be taking it like a pro. I’ll toss some picture links but photography is not one of my strong suits.

Stocking List*:
Hemigrammus rodwayi Gold Tetra x 6
Aphyocharax anisitsi Bloodfin Tetra x 10
Betta Splendens x 1
Ghost Shrimp x 8

:)

*yes, I am aware that tank mates will equal lunch sooner or later.

wow your lung hase some awsome amount of space...did it live with tankmates???(it looks like it's fins got nibbled)

in the 20L it lived with a brown ghost knife, a leopard bush fish, a pleco and 3 brilliant rasboras. If you are referring to his tail, he came into my life like that. My guess is that he was nipped by a tankmate before I bought him. If you mean his little noodle arms...I dunno. They have always been stumpy.

Also, can anyone confirm that this is a slender lungfish? That's what it was sold to me as.

p.s. how is your dolloi's character???...I heard diferent story's about dolloi's mine is over aggressive. when i throw in food it goes for your hand first, and than the food...and when I clean out his tank it's tank usually it won't eat for a day.(gets upset easily)
It also destroys and bites everything in his tank.

as of right now, I would have to classify his temperament somewhere between "log" and "semi-mobile stone". He's never so much as nipped at anything that wasn't a bloodworm, though a couple of ghost shrimp in the past have gone MIA.

All in all I have absolutely no complaints about him, but I assumed all little lungfish started out life by being afraid of everything. He is, at most, 6 inches.

and yes it is a dolloi (slender lungfish) and his "noodle arms" should be longer.
this is mine when it was still small. (it;s fins (arms) should look like this)

hahaha..ow....it's temperament probably will change when it will get older/bigger.

hm...I guess someone did get a piece of him at some point. Since I've had him they have always looked like that. He must have had some rough tank mates at some point (he was alone when I got him). Will the fins grow back?

nice lung, by the way. It was always my dream to have an albino :)

his fins should grow back......lungfish should grow their fins back in a few weeks max...but I guess you have had it longer than that.....

p.s. these are old pictures..this lung is 3,4 ft now..it started getting agressive at 2 ft.
