I AGREE THAT IT LOOKS LIKE A JD TEXAS HYBRID. LOKKING AT THE COLORATION AND JD COLORING AROUND THE HEAD . JUST MY 2CENTS.

:iagree: yeah that was my first thought too. pearls look too big to be cyano anyway, as others have already said. :)
 
this is why i think its a kamfa...
heres a pic of my old thai kamfa
looks sort of similar. im sure it would look more similar if yours didnt look so stressed out in the pic, but could also be what others are saying, the tex and jd mix...

Hmm...

Are you guys saying it has jd in it cause of the way the pearls are on the side? Looks like every "red texas" I have seen (aka carpintis hybrid), and def. not a kamfa..

..I was looking forward to one bad-a cyano..
 
waterspots are the sign of an active fish keeper in my opinion!!!!!!

I think it'll probably look like this too.

Sorry for the disappointment guys. I just took my friend at his word.

I just got the fish 2 days ago and he really doesn't like the light. I think he just needs time to acclimate.
 
its not a texas, but carpintis, or people dumped a low quality red texas in the river. btw where did ur friend caught it?
