Ok, so I have decided that I am going to go through with my 100 Gallon with a 55 gallon sump Reef aquarium. I plan to drill my 100 with 3 1" Holes in a BeanAnimal set up. Click the link to see what it is. It has 1" intakes that are increased to 1.5's in the elbows. It claims to be able to easily handle 200GPH. Does this sound right to you? If not what size hole should I cut?

Thanks, thats probably the first of many Qs coming! Ive been follwing this site for a couple years, and this is a big jump for me. I have kept a 30 gallon marine aquarium for about a year now, and a 50gallon freshwater for 3 years, and various others for a few years before. But this is going to be a monster setup by my standards at least, and will need you geniuses to keep the info coming! I appreciate any input you guys can lend, and I can't wait to get started so i can get some picture action!

Make sure you realize that you will need bigger than 1" holes for this setup. The holes will need to be around 1 1/2" to hold a 1" bulkhead. I am pretty sure you know this I just saw the size you said and what the article says. It would be best to have the bulkheads on hand before drilling to make sure you are drilling the exact size you need.

Lol thanks for the response, does anyone have any experience with this? Anyone know a good formula to figure it out? Im not to worried about the drilling part, just the size of holes.

I'll try and get a paint plan up tonight, and some of my ideas to make it cheap built in looking tank without actually modifying the home at all.

Any other generic tips that anyone has for a tank of this size i'd appreciate the input as well!

Good call out! Glass-holes.com actually informed me of this with the drill bits they offer, they tell you which ones match their bulkheads, so I figure i might as well get the bulkheads their and walk away with everything I need for under 50 bucks and free shipping! Then the plexi I can get at tap plastics, pipe I have but the fittings I'll have to buy. Im trying to stay on a budget, but not cheap out.... if that makes any sense! I'm not cutting corners but I am trying to shop well :D

Nice, ya I know what you mean on trying not to spend too much. Is the plexi black that you are getting?
