I decided to make an official thread so folks wouldn't have to read thru 4 pages of discussion before getting to the facts.
Here is the deal on the ornatum:
They are from Oliver
Price will range $110-120ea at 3" (this includes F/G, importation fees, etc)
Fish are wild
Fish will be shipped to Seattle, quarantined, and then shipped to you a week or so later.
The five in the video are in Seattle, WA currently at Mel O'Meara's home. We are planning on bringing in 50+ in the next month or two if we have enough PRESOLD (not preorders). Im working with a long time friend of mine who owns a store in Seattle. Im originally from there and I help him out when I can. I currently run the internet sales for him on Aquabid-he has great stuff and a limited customer base to sell to. It's fairly easy to run this part of the business offsite with digital cameras, etc. The website to the store is www.aplaceforpets.org if you'd like to verify.
As for shipping options-the USPS will no longer accept live fish out of Seattle according to some new regulation that they jammed in our face a couple of weeks ago. We will ship DHL, FedEX, UPS, etc-but it wont be cheap $100+ easily. If you or your work has an acct with these carriers, we will use it for you.
We have also just recently created accts with Alaska, Southwest and Continental Air Cargo to ship fish as well. Typically this method runs between $50-75 depending on weight. We are working on other carriers as well, but these take time.
If you are interested-seriously interested inquiries only, you can PM me. Ill give you the paypal acct number and you can tell me how many you want. If you see something else on his list, we may be able to acquire that as well for you.
As for live arrival guarantees-we will guarantee live arrival when we ship them so long as the fish arrive (and you pick them up) on time. If the carrier screws things up and they arrive late, you will need to file a claim if they are DOA. We've had very good luck shipping-we lost our first fish, a large bocourti, that tore open 3 bags last week. We've had shipments show up a day late recently and all fish have been fine. If the fish die from shipping to our store from Canada-if we get reimbursed from Oliver, you will be reimbursed. (Its the same risk that you take ordering directly from him.
Thanks for the interest-lets hope to get this awesome fish firmly planted in the hobby!
If you have any more questions, please feel free to reach out to me. If you see something else on his list that you would like, we may be able to acquire that for you as well. We can discuss price on a item specific basis.
We have 2 spoken for as of 9/20
