heres' another one, though haynchinook may know it

there's a bucket of apples, a bucket of oranges and a bucket of apples mixed with oranges. you can't see through the closed buckets and they are each labeled. one says "apples", one says "oranges" and one says "mixed". each bucket is labeled incorrectly. how do you put the right label on the right bucket? you can only choose one bucket to take out one fruit to see what it is.

oh oh I think I got it! the bucket you open is say.. oranges, you then take the label and label it oranges, and obviously the other two buckets are labelled incorrectly so if you switch their labels around they are now correct..?

I agree, although it is hard to think of every possible scenario that the human mind can think of, but I really do like these riddles in the morning, gets your brain working!

it's hard to do, but possible. that's why a riddle is a good one when there is only 1 answer and not possible other answers.

but yea, i love riddles. its' so mind stimulating

If each bucket is labelled incorrectly then I'd open the one that says 'mixed'. What ever is inside is the only fruit contained within the bucket since that bucket was mislabeled and cannot be mixed. Then, if say I got an apple out of the mixed bucket, I'd swap the 'mixed' label with the one that says 'apples'. After doing that I'd swap the other two.

Did that make any sense or am I completely wrong.

here's one for you while i ponder yours.

an electric train is half full traveling north at 60 mph, the wind is blowing at 70 mph north. the train can go 65 mph when full. which direction does the train's smoke blow?

actually, flower is right, i forgot. you have to choose the bucket that is labeled mixed to take the fruit out of. if you choose either of the other ones, you can still mislabel
